King cakes for Carnival 2025!

Regular price $25.00
Looking for "The Goddess"/Krewe of Muses cake? Visit our friends at King Cake Hub! We deliver dozens of these cakes to Jennifer and her staff almost every day, so visit 1464 South Broad and give a "Goddess" a great home. Unfortunately, we’ve sold out of "The Goddess" for pickup at NOCCA and for shipping, but we do have our Louisiana Satsuma Almond, Salted Caramel Apple, and Gluten-Free Cinnamon king cakes available through March 2!

ALL ABOUT OUR KING CAKES

Carnival season is here, and so are king cakes! This year, we aim to satisfy your sweet tooth with two of our classic cakes, plus a series of limited-edition flavors dreamed up by NOCCA students and faculty. You can also buy them with great coffee from French Truck Coffee! (Click here for info.)
  • Louisiana Satsuma & Almond: This stunning king cake combines the tart, tangy taste of homegrown satsumas with sumptuous almond paste. The brioche-style dough is braided, glazed with even more satsuma, and finally dusted with purple, green, and gold edible glitter. Give it as a gift or enjoy it yourself!
  • Gluten-Free Cinnamon: Love the taste of a classic New Orleans king cake but can't do gluten? This is the Carnival treat for you! Soft and pillowy inside, with a not-too-sweet cinnamon ribbon and crust, vanilla glaze, and shimmery edible glitter, this is a cake for everyone to enjoy!
  • LIMITED-EDITION: The Goddess, celebrating the Krewe of Muses! (available Feb 17-27 only): Painters and fashion designers may have their muses, but in New Orleans, we have a whole krewe of them, and they've asked us to create a cake to celebrate Muses' 25th anniversary! "The Goddess" features figs and creamy goat cheese, paired with candied orange, thyme, and toasted walnuts: the unmistakable flavors of Greece. "The Goddess" doesn't compete within the realm of king cakes -- she outranks them all! This divinely inspired delicacy is only available to mortals through Muses tHERsday.
  • LIMITED-EDITION: Salted Caramel Apple (available Jan 6 - Jan 26 and Feb 28 - March 3): Our first limited-edition king cake of the 2025 Carnival season is back for the final weekend! We're wrapping winter spiced apples (think cardamom and clove, not apple pie!) and lightly sweetened cream cheese in a brioche dough, glazing it with salted caramel, and finishing it off with crunchy caramel bits and edible glitter. It's like a whole Carnival parade in a box!

Previously available:

  • LIMITED-EDITION: Key Lime Blueberry (available Jan 27 - Feb 9): Our second limited-edition king cake features jam from sweet, local blueberries enveloped in tart key lime, and the cake is topped with a key lime glaze. It's a great alternative to the warm flavors more common in king cakes, and it packs a delicious punch. Available for two weeks only!
  • LIMITED-EDITION: Chocolate Raspberry (available Feb 10 - 16): Just in time for Valentine's Day, NOCCA offers a luxurious, creamy king cake filled with chocolate and raspberries! Share this sweet, rich delight with a partner, a great friend, or any chocolate-lover in your life. Available for one week only!

Each cake comes with a special bean for you to hide in the cake. Like plastic king cake babies, the bean isn't for eating.

WHERE TO FIND OUR KING CAKES

Nearly every day of the week, you can find our cakes at the King Cake Hub (KingCakeHub.com), located at 1464 South Broad Street (map).

However, you can order your king cake right here and pick it up on the Saturday or Sunday you choose. (You can pick up on January 6, too!) This year, we'll also be shipping cakes on Wednesdays. There's more info about all of this below.

TO ORDER FOR PICKUP

Ordering for pickup is easy:

Step one: Pick the flavor(s) you want.

Step two: Pick the date that you want to pick up your cake(s). Please note, we don't typically make extra cakes, so your cake will only be available on the date you've chosen.

Step three: On the date you've chosen, come to Press Street Station (at the corner of Royal and Homer Plessy Way) from 9am-12pm.

Step four: Enjoy!

Please note: All king cakes are made to order. Cutoff time for orders is 3pm two days before the desired pickup. For example, if you want to pick up a cake on Monday, January 6, you'll need to order it by Saturday, January 4 at 3pm. We strongly encourage you to order early, because we may sell out in advance of the 3pm deadline!

TO ORDER FOR SHIPPING

Every Wednesday of the Carnival season, we'll prepare orders for shipping to anywhere in the continental U.S. We recommend a shorter ship time to ensure freshness.

Please note that we will ship out your order on your chosen date, but once it leaves our hands, we don't have any control over the delivery process. We can't offer refunds for items that arrive late. Sorry!

REFUNDS

Our king cakes are made to order, so we can't offer refunds after the purchasing window has closed. If you'd like a refund, please email us no later than 3pm two days before pickup (e.g. Thursday at 3pm for a Saturday pickup). Our address is marketplace@noccafoundation.org. Cakes that aren't picked up within 48 hours of their scheduled pick-up time will be scrapped.
